Viettel High Tech, a member of Vietnam's telecom heavyweight Viettel Group, announced the successful testing of 5G equipment with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications (DU), a leading network operator in the Middle East.

Viettel is one of the world's few global providers of comprehensive 4G/5G solutions.

The event took place during the Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC 2025) in Barcelona, Spain on Thursday. It marks a significant milestone in Viettel High Tech’s international expansion strategy and showcases Vietnam’s technological capabilities on the global telecommunications stage.

The deployment of Viettel High Tech's advanced 5G solutions not only meets the growing demand for network capacity and high data transmission speeds, but also lays the foundation for breakthrough applications in the Middle East.

At the event, Viettel High Tech, together with its strategic partner High Cloud Technologies (HCT), signed an MoU with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications to collaborate on deploying, testing, and commercializing 5G solutions across the Middle East.

The first phase of the project will focus on testing Emirates Integrated Telecommunications' advanced network with two main categories: the 5G OpenRAN public network and the 5G private network.

Viettel High Tech’s advanced 5G solutions are designed not only to meet the growing demand for network capacity and fast data transmission but also to enable breakthrough applications such as smart cities, virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), and the industrial internet of things (IoT).

Nguyen Vu Ha, general director of Viettel High Tech, stated that the collaboration between Viettel High Tech, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications, and High Cloud Technologies will establish a robust 5G ecosystem that meets international standards, accelerating the region’s digital transformation.

Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications, commented: “This partnership is a key step in providing future-ready connectivity solutions. Integrating 5G Private and OpenRAN will help us build a next-generation telecommunications ecosystem, bringing value to businesses, governments, and communities”.

According to Viettel High Tech’s leaders, the partnership with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications aligns with the UAE’s national digitalization strategy, which focuses on investing in telecommunications infrastructure to drive economic growth. Successful trials will pave the way for large-scale commercial deployment, positioning the UAE as a global telecommunications technology hub.

In addition to its 5G trials, Viettel High Tech is actively exploring opportunities to expand its network infrastructure solutions in the Middle East. This strategic move aims to build a comprehensive technology ecosystem while strengthening Viettel High Tech’s position in the global new-generation telecommunications value chain.
