Agri major Hoang Anh Gia Lai posts net profit of $33 mln in 8 months

Agricultural giant Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC earned net profits of VND781 billion ($33 million) on net revenues of VND2,708 billion ($115 million) in the first eight months of the year.

The net profit fulfilled 69% of the company’s 2022 plan.

In August, the firm, listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange as HAG, posted net revenues of VND448 billion ($18.98 million), up 14% over July.

This included VND195 billion ($8.26 million) from livestock, VND193 billion from fruits, and VND60 billion from auxiliary activities.

Its August net profit dipped 1.6% month-on-month to VND123 billion ($5.3 million).

In January-August, HAG sold 136,075 hogs and 167,280 tons of bananas. The firm is raising 100,000 chickens and plans to introduce its poultry products to the market in November.

The business is constructing nine farming areas for 27,000 breading hogs and 600,000 market hogs.

HAG shares closed the trading session on September 14 at VND13,700 ($0.58).
