Vietnam gasoline price hiked for second time after 3 consecutive drops since early April
Retail gasoline prices in Vietnam were raised by VND390-520 ($0.02) per liter on Thursday, the second hike after three consecutive drops since early April.
RON 95-III gasoline rose to VND22,010 ($0.94) per liter, while E5 RON 92 hit VND20,870 ($0.89).
Diesel oil decreased by VND10 to VND17,940 ($0.76) a liter, while kerosene fell by VND190 to VND17,770 ($0.76) per liter.
For this price adjustment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance decided to maintain the level of deductions from different types of gasoline and oil for the national gasoline price stabilization fund.
Vietnam's consumer price index (CPI) in May fell 0.01% from April, according to the General Statistics Office. The major reason was rising food, electricity and water prices due to prolonged hot weather. Average CPI in the first five months rose 3.55% from a year earlier.
