SSI (HoSE: SSI) attributed the growth in outstanding loans to a strengthened capital base, helping meet investors’ funding needs as the market continued to develop.

According to its Q2 financial statements, the company’s operating revenue reached over VND3.2 trillion ($121.59 million), up more than 10% compared with the same period last year.

The main contributor to the revenue growth was margin lending interest income, which reached VND1.09 trillion ($41.41 million), increasing by more than 31.5%. Margin lending was an important driver of SSI’ business performance in the quarter, accounting for more than 34% of operating revenue.

In addition, interest income from held-to-maturity investments reached VND128.9 billion ($4.9 million), equivalent to a rise of 26.1%.

After deducting expenses, SSI recorded pre-tax profit of over VND1.51 trillion and after-tax profit of more than VND1.23 trillion ($46.73 million) in Q2, representing respective increases of 32% and 33.4% from the same period last year.

For the first six months of 2026, SSI reported revenue of over VND6.65 trillion ($252.67 million) and pre-tax profit of VND3.12 trillion ($118.55 million), up 27% and 39%, respectively, year-on-year. The company had therefore completed more than half of the year's plan.

As of June 30, 2026, the broker’s total assets reached nearly VND95.24 trillion ($3.62 billion), an increase of more than VND2.2 trillion compared with the beginning of the year. The largest proportion came from FVTPL (Fair Value Through Profit or Loss) assets, valued at nearly VND43.29 trillion ($1.64 billion), up more than VND5.6 trillion from the beginning of the year. The company mainly invested in certificates of deposit (nearly VND27 trillion or $1.03 billion) and bonds (more than VND14.5 trillion).

SSI’s stock portfolio was valued at VND790 billion or $30.02 million (based on fair value). MSB of Maritime Bank led SSI’s holdings, with an investment value of VND373 billion and an unrealized gain of VND32 billion.

Other stocks with significant allocations included MWG of retail giant Mobile World (VND40 billion or $1.52 million), HPG of steel giant Hoa Phat (VND36.5 billion), VIC of conglomerate Vingroup (VND33.4 billion), and FPT of tech giant FPT Corp. (VND29.5 billion).

The company’s total liabilities stood at close to VND55.65 trillion ($2.11 billion), down nearly VND6.3 trillion from the beginning of the year. Most of the liabilities were short-term borrowings, totaling more than VND54 trillion.

On the stock market, SSI shares were sold at VND22,700 ($0.86) apiece on Monday.
